Our Cancellation Policy

At OM Rides, we understand that plans can change. This policy outlines our cancellation and refund procedures in compliance with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. We aim to be fair and transparent in all our dealings.

48+ Hours Before Pickup

100% Refund

Full refund of advance payment

24-48 Hours Before Pickup

50% Refund

50% deduction from advance payment

12-24 Hours Before Pickup

25% Refund

75% deduction from advance payment

Less than 12 Hours / No-Show

No Refund

Full advance amount forfeited

Please include your Booking ID, registered phone number, and reason for cancellation in your request.

Refund Process

Processing Time: Refunds are processed within 5-7 working days

Refund Method: Same payment method used for booking (UPI, Bank Transfer, etc.)

Bank Processing: Additional 3-5 days for bank processing may apply

Confirmation: You will receive SMS/Email confirmation once refund is initiated

Booking Modifications

You can modify your booking (change dates, vehicle, or pickup location) subject to:

  • Free modifications: 48+ hours before pickup (subject to availability)
  • Rs. 300 fee: 24-48 hours before pickup
  • Rs. 500 fee: 12-24 hours before pickup
  • Modifications within 12 hours treated as cancellation + new booking
  • Price difference (if any) to be paid/refunded accordingly

Early Return Policy

If you return the vehicle before the scheduled end time:

  • No refund for unused rental period
  • Hourly/daily rates are fixed at time of booking
  • Early return does not entitle you to a refund
  • Contact us if you wish to extend your rental period

Cancellation by OM Rides

We may cancel your booking in the following circumstances:

  • Vehicle unavailability due to unforeseen circumstances
  • Invalid or expired documents provided
  • Customer appears intoxicated at pickup
  • Natural disasters, strikes, or force majeure events
  • Fraudulent booking attempt detected

In case of cancellation by OM Rides (not due to customer fault), you will receive a 100% refund or option to reschedule without any charges.

Security Deposit Refund

  • Security deposit refunded within 3-5 working days after vehicle return
  • Vehicle inspection conducted at time of return
  • Deductions for damages, fines, or excessive cleaning may apply
  • Toll charges, traffic violations detected later will be deducted
  • Full deposit refund if vehicle returned in original condition

Non-Refundable Items

  • Convenience/booking fees (if any)
  • Add-on services already utilized (GPS, child seat, etc.)
  • Delivery/pickup charges for doorstep service
  • Insurance premium charges
  • Fuel consumed during rental period

Dispute Resolution

If you have concerns about your refund or cancellation:

  1. Contact our customer support within 7 days of cancellation
  2. Provide booking ID and supporting documentation
  3. Our team will review and respond within 48 hours
  4. If unresolved, escalate to Grievance Officer at grievance@omrides.com
  5. Final resolution within 30 days as per Consumer Protection Act
